What do you do with spare terminations?

A question for those of you dealing with thermocouple feed-thrus in vacuum or sealed environments, what's your preferred approach for handling unused or spare terminations?
I've got a multi pin feed thru (K type, 12 pin, only using 8 right now), and I'm debating how to best deal with the 4 unused pairs, leaving them unterminated feels sloppy, but grounding or shorting them doesn't seem right either, especially in high sensitivity applications
Some people say I can just cap and label them for future use, others go the extra mile and terminate everything inside a breakout box even if it's not connected to anything. I'd rather not introduce noise or future headaches down the line

Make sure to cap and label those unused pairs, it's super important not to ground or short them, or you'll end up with annoying noise. If you can, using a breakout box for terminations is ideal, but honestly, just neat capping will do the job just fine

When dealing with unused thermocouple pins, is it better to leave them open and risk noise, or terminate them and risk unintended interference?
